TheraSuit® Method Intensive Pediatric Therapy Miami, FL

At KidsCare Therapy Center, we offer advanced pediatric rehab treatments. The TheraSuit® Method Intensive Program (TMIP) is an intensive individualized therapy program that accelerates functional progress. This program includes the use of a TheraSuit® and a Universal Exercise Unit (UEU). TheraSuit® is a soft canvas suit with bungee-like cords attached. It’s uniquely designed to strengthen and retrain a child’s muscles and neurological responses.

The UEU, is a cage equipped with long bungee cords that a child uses, while belted in, to practice certain movements and exercises that allow for a range of motions that the TheraSuit® doesn’t allow. Combining both methods allows a patient to do exercises and intensive therapies that would normally take multiple therapists to achieve. The principle of the UEU is for the child to perform independent movement by eliminating gravitational forces through suspension of the body part being exercised.

The TheraSuit® Method Intensive Program is suitable to treat the following:

Any neurological impairment that will not make the condition worse with exercise or additional weight bearing.

TheraSuit® Method Cost

The program offered for 3 hours per day, 5 days a week for 3 weeks. This program is provided on a one-on-one basis with our physical and occupational therapists are specially trained to use the TheraSuit® method to develop an individualized treatment plan that meets your child’s needs. For entry into the program, our TheraSuit® certified physical therapist and occupational therapist must screen, evaluate, and recommend the patient for inclusion in the program. In addition, the child must have clearance for his or her Pediatrician.

The cost of the program is $100 per therapy hour ($4,500 for 45 hours).

PLEASE NOTE: A child does NOT have to be a current patient at KidsCare Therapy Center to participate in TheraSuit® Method. They may resume services with their regular PT/OT provider following completion of TheraSuit® Method.
